GIS Analysis & Data Creation

Client:

LECG, LLC

Pupose:

DDS, Inc. provides ongoing litigation support for LECG in the areas of GIS mapping, analysis, and data collection.

Processes/Services:

Example 1: DDS, Inc. utilized GIS to identify stakeholders affected by potential pollution from an iron smelter. LECG provided GIS .shp files showing the affected area. DDS then obtained parcel data from several counties, which were overlaid on the smelter plume and selected out. DDS then provided LECG with an access database of the parcels and related tabular data of the affected parcels.

Example 2: Client provided DDS with an Excel spreadsheet containing the names and addresses of industrial dischargers from the year 1959. DDS geocoded the non-standardized addresses of dischargers and created a map book series showing the discharger location overlaid upon NAIP imagery.

Example 3: Client provided DDS with non-standardized addresses of paint outlet locations for the years 1937, 1941 and 1945. DDS geocoded the addresses, performed a distance analysis to each location from a source location and created a series of maps for each year.

Example 4: Client will supply DDS, Inc. with a map or geographic coordinates for a particular area of interest. DDS will then research and obtain (through an archive of millions of datasets) historic or current aerial photographs and/or historic or current topographic maps for the site of interest. DDS will then georeference the historic data to real world coordinates and use that information as a base map for analysis and litigation support.
