Featured Projects:

Well Location Database Creation

Client:

IHS Energy Group

Pupose:

To provide IHS with surface elevation heights for over 3 million current and historic petroleum and gas well locations.

Processes/Services:

IHS provided DDS with over 3 million well locations in a database format. DDS converted the database into GIS features, and by comparing the data with the National Elevation Dataset (DEM Data), was able to assign the wells an elevation attribute based on their spatial location. The project was delivered ahead of the scheduled time.

Deliverable to Client:

Microsoft Access Database

Cost:

$7,800

Hand Drawn Feature Conversion

Client:

Samson

Pupose:

Provide Samson with vector representations of contours and faults as depicted on hand drawn site map. Samson used this data for analysis of petroleum production and potential well site locations as well as using a print out of the vector data as a working field map. Petra Software was used to perform the analysis.

Processes/Services:

Beginning with client supplied map, DDS scanned the map in as a high resolution image and georeferenced the map to the clients specifications. DDS vectorized and assigned z-values to all of the contours. All index contours were placed on one layer and the intermediate contours on a separate layer. DDS then vectorized all of the faults, placing them on a different layer. Two different data sets were created from the original .dwg file; an .xyz file and ESRI .shp files.

Deliverable to Client:

ESRI .shp files and .xyz files.

Cost:

$1,500

USGS Quad Map Vectorization

Client:

Penn Virginia Oil & Gas Corporation

Pupose:

Provide Penn Virginia Oil & Gas Corporation with fully vectorized, USGS quads in .dwg format.

Processes/Services:

DDS obtained each quad in the area of interest from the USGS. We then scanned each quad at 400 dpi color to ensure digitizing accuracy. Each quad was georeferenced to the client's specified projection. DDS used a proprietary process to vectorize each entity of the quad in AutoCad, placing each entity on its own layer. These fully editable, vectorized quads are used by field engineers to map out potential areas for well locations.

Deliverable to Client:

ESRI .shp files and AutoCad .dxf files.

Cost:

$5,500
