Alameda Water & Sanitation District

Pupose:

Alameda Water & Sanitation District provides water and sewer services for approximately 500 customers in Lakewood, CO. Digital Data Services, Inc. was tasked with creating a geodatabase using disparate data sets. The intended purpose was to be able to create ad-hoc maps in house for engineers to use in the field as well as identify those affected by scheduled maintence or infrastructure issues.

Processes/Services:

The first step in creating the GDB was to clean up and conflate the data aquired from the different sources. DDS. worked with AW&SD to identify what fields were needed for each feature type. DDS digitized water main locations from existing engineering maps. The mains were attributed with length, diameter and grade. Newly aquired survey date of meters and vales wasa added to the GDB. As needed data was reprojected into State Plane Colorado Central FIPS 0502 NAD 83. DDS also supplied AW&SD with custom clipped high resolution aerials of their service area.

Upon delivery of the project DDS provided a series of training sessions to familarize the users with the data and tasks nescessary to create ad hoc maps and querys for specific needs.
