Colorado Department of Natural Resources | ArcGIS Enterprise Migration

Project Summary
DDS has assisted the Colorado Department of Natural Resources with several ArcGIS Enterprise migrations between various server environments.

In 2017, the Colorado Division of Water Resources (DWR) migrated CDSS from PhoenixNAP to the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) server infrastructure. In addition, DDS assisted with documenting the existing software, applications, data, and map services and provided technical support to DWR and OIT. The final rollover of CDSS onto the OIT servers was completed in February 2018.

In 2020, DWR contacted DDS to develop a plan and documentation to migrate CDSS from OIT’s server infrastructure to the Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) server infrastructure. DDS designed and documented a multi-tier multi-development enterprise GIS to support the Colorado Division of Water Resources, Colorado Oil and Gas Commission, Colorado Water Conservation Board, and the Colorado Department of Mining and Reclamation. DDS was not allowed direct access to the servers, created the documentation, and worked with DNR staff to build and deploy their Enterprise GIS via screen-sharing sessions.
